|Dog updates, and Megaplex

Our new dog, Dizzy, has been continuing to make progress every day, especially now that I keep her on the leash during the days while I am home. Last week, she took a treat from Joe's hand instead of turning her nose up at him. She also learned after working for only one day that she doesn't have to bolt up the stairs as quickly as possible. This week she's started leaning up against me or sleeping on my feet. I think being on the leash and being made to be around the other members of the household, she's starting to feel like she has no choice but to be a member of the "pack" and so she's warming up a little bit. |
I took her out this morning for her weekly socialization at the farmer's market and the dog park. We were very early (we went right after I was done with a glucose test appointment I had) so there wasn't a lot going on but she was actually eager when we got to the farmer's market - when she got out of the car her tail was wagging and she was happy. Then, at the dog park, there were other dogs there this time (last time it had been empty) and while she wasn't afraid or nervous, she sniffed them then decided she'd rather hang out with me. The only way she'd wander the park was if I walked with her. The rest of the time, she was glued to my side. Trying to see what she'd do if I left her to her own devices, I sat on a picnic table in the center of it so she couldn't lean up against me, and she climbed up onto the table with me and laid down beside me. So, I guess that settles that, she prefers me as a pack mate, now. ;)
This weekend is Megaplex. We're not planning to actually attend, though I do have some things to pass off to people over the weekend so we are going to be in Orlando at the hotel on Saturday for a brief period. Otherwise we'll probably do our usual Sea World and/or Ikea thing, as we both have really been needing a vacation day. If anyone here is going to be at the con and wants to say hey, let me know. We'll at least be in the area, if not attending.
Hahhaha! That's super cute about her laying next to you on the picnic table. I guess you guys aren't too bad, after all ;)
She was totally content hanging out next to me on the picnic table, haha. :)
She's getting better around the house, too. This evening I unclipped her leash and had her follow me into the kitchen to make dinner, then back to the living room, and she followed without issue. I tried getting her to walk past the stairs while off the leash, but that was a no-go; baby steps. She's doing immensely better than she had been even just a week ago.
I'll be in the dealer room all day trying to coax furries into smelling better. =)
We won't be going into the dealer's room at all since we won't be buying badges. :( But I'll text you and let you know when we're around and at least get a Rogue hug. ;) I hope you do really well with your scent bar!! It sounds like such a good idea. :D
me too! there's a lot of folks that seem interested and actually being able to smell stuff will make it easier. keeping my fingers crossed! it's also going to be my mom's first furcon so THAT should be interesting
I hope you did really well at the con! Was so good to see you there, can't wait to hear of your shenanigans from this week if we're able to meet up for dinner again.
Would you maybe be up for Dandelion on Sunday evening? We're bringing Dizzy with us for the weekend, and they have outdoor seating (I believe) so that would work great for us.
They do indeed have outdoor seating! Yeah we're game. Mom loves Dandy anyway. we have to tally everything up yet but I'm relatively sure we hit the 475 mark in sales. Not too shabby for a small con. Vitai ended up buying 6 bottles by himself. He's a sweetie. Told him we needed to talk more since we have mutual friends and a lot in common! =)
I love me some Dandelion too, their black bean burritos are perfection. <3
And it doesn't surprise me Vitai ended up getting several bottles from you. He's such a sweetheart. X)
LIES. You'd have to find me, first. And we won't be there for very long, I have to go feed the sea lions at Sea World or they'll starve without me. :>
See, I knew you wouldn't pounce me!
Actually, I saw your rear end turning around the corner to go down the hallway into conspace on Saturday afternoon while I was talking to other people. Out of reach since I had no badge. Oh well. ;)
